Take Action for Farmed Animals in Ireland!

1–2 minutes
Animal Welfare Consultation Workshop

The Irish Government has opened a public consultation on the Animal Welfare Strategy 2026–2030 — a key opportunity for every member of the public, animal advocates, and welfare organisations to influence the future of animal protection in Ireland.

The previous Strategy delivered meaningful progress: increased funding for welfare initiatives, new governance structures, and a stronger evidence-based approach to policy.
Now, you have the chance to build on that foundation and push for stronger, more ambitious protections for farmed animals.

But serious welfare issues persist. Pigs still endure painful tail docking, pregnant sows remain confined in metal crates, very young calves are transported long distances without adequate feeding, and broiler chickens spend their short lives in overcrowded, harmful conditions.

This consultation is our opportunity — your opportunity — to call for change that genuinely improves the lives of Ireland’s farmed animals.

Join GPRG and Ethical Farming Ireland for upcoming workshops — open to the public and welfare organisations:

During these sessions, GPRG and Ethical Farming Ireland will:

  • Walk you step-by-step through the online consultation and submission process
  • Share insights from leading animal-welfare NGOs
  • Help you craft a strong, well-informed, and impactful submission
  • Support both individuals and organisations in using their voices effectively
